The Iron Status Profile accurately evaluates all important factors related to iron levels in the body.
Anaemia is a common condition caused by low levels of iron, as red blood cells require iron to effectively carry oxygen throughout the body.
This test accurately determines if you are at risk for iron-deficiency anemia, or if you already have anemia, pinpoints low iron as the cause.
Iron deficiency anaemia can cause
Paler than usual skin
Shortness of breath
Noticeable heartbeats (heart palpitations)
Headaches
Tiredness and lack of energy
This product can provide various measures for your iron levels, including serum iron to show your current blood levels, TIBC to analyze your blood cell's ability to attach to iron, transferrin saturation to demonstrate your body's iron usage, and ferritin as a storage protein. Low ferritin levels can indicate low iron stores, and high levels can indicate inflammation from factors such as autoimmune conditions, infections, or excessive alcohol intake.
If your iron levels are low, they can be remedied with supplements and dietary adjustments. However, if your iron levels are high, it may indicate a medical condition known as haemochromatosis, requiring further medical attention.
The turnaround time for receiving results is approximately 2-3 working days following the day your sample was taken. Each blood test includes a tailored report from a doctor and a detailed guide to assist in interpreting your results and providing insight into your overall health.
